About Us
We Help Keep Agricultural Trade Moving — and Less Complex
Terraxis was founded on a simple belief: agricultural trade should stay open and fair — even as global rules become more complex.
We work to ensure that smallholder farmers, cooperatives, SMEs, and climate-smart producers are not left behind as international compliance requirements continue to increase.
Through our geospatial engine, Plotra, we help organizations meet growing requirements around traceability, EUDR compliance, labor rights, and climate accountability without pushing producers out of the system.
We focus primarily on coffee, cacao, and other high-risk agricultural value chains where rising compliance costs and data gaps often limit access to international markets.
Our Vision
We believe sustainability should function like infrastructure — not simply appear as words in a report.
Most compliance systems are designed for ideal supply chains, but agriculture in the real world is far more complex. Small and scattered farms, informal land ownership, agroforestry systems, limited digital infrastructure, and diverse rural livelihoods require a different approach.
When compliance systems ignore these realities, small producers are often excluded from markets even when they are doing the right thing. Terraxis exists to reduce that risk.
We build systems that understand real-world agriculture through geospatial mapping, digital supply chain records, practical compliance verification, and climate-aware market systems.
Sustainability by Design
At Terraxis, sustainability is not treated as a separate report or optional add-on. We build sustainability directly into how trade systems operate.
- Making EUDR compliance easier for SMEs and smallholder cooperatives
- Helping climate-friendly farming become visible and verifiable
- Avoiding closed systems that trap users
- Strengthening trust across supply chains
Our goal is simple: sustainability should support trade — not slow it down. Long-term sustainability only works when systems are practical, affordable, and inclusive by design.
Our Principles
Inclusive Compliance
We believe compliance should improve systems — not break them. Instead of removing smallholders from supply chains, we help improve visibility, records, and data quality.
If a farmer has incomplete records, the answer should be support and correction — not rejection from the market.
Data Sovereignty
Farmers and cooperatives should own their data. We design systems so information remains transparent, portable, accessible, and under the control of the people who produce it.
Open and Interoperable Systems
We avoid building closed platforms that lock users in. Instead, we create tools that work alongside buyers, cooperatives, exporters, and regulators without duplication or fragmentation.
Think of it like this: we build USB — not proprietary cables.
Context Matters in Compliance
Risk is not the same everywhere. Our systems consider labor structures, land ownership, migration patterns, and local agricultural practices to create compliance decisions that are more accurate, fair, and grounded in reality.
Built from Field Experience
Terraxis is not only a technology company. It is shaped by real-world humanitarian and development experience.
Founder Abshir Ahmed brings more than 15 years of experience working across refugee protection systems, human trafficking prevention, displacement and migration, and human rights programs, including work linked with UNHCR.
That background shapes how we think about compliance. We do not see compliance as paperwork alone. We see it as something connected to real people, real farms, and real livelihoods.
